IUSRS 2020 – Virtual Research Assistance-ships

The McMaster Indigenous Research Institute is pleased to announce the 2020 cycle of Indigenous Undergraduate Summer Research Scholars (IUSRS) program has been re-designed to allow for virtual research assistance-ships!

In alignment with government and university pandemic guidelines, IUSRS 2020 will utilize a fully digital platform to provide a graduate level research experience for Indigenous undergrads and recent grads.  Working with a McMaster faculty member, IUSR Scholars will gain hands-on research skills, while also taking part in weekly digital workshops to learn more about graduate studies.  Digital workshop topics include Indigenous Research Methods, Applying to Grad School, Translation and Communication of Research, Mock Grad Class as well as traditional teachings based from local Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe Elders.  Indigenous undergraduates (and recent graduates) enrolled at any Canadian university are invited to apply.

The 2020 IUSRS cycle will begin on Monday June 1st and run for 8-weeks until July 24th, 2020.
